“Trophies” by Drake

“Trophies” by Drake is a hip-hop song. This is a song about how people sometimes do things that they think or know is the right thing to do, but they don’t any prize for doing it. I feel that people need a little appreciation for doing what is right. This happens to me all the time. Sometimes I try to be nice to others and they are reckless in return, which is why I can’t be nice to others when they are rude.

After Drake released the song for free in December 2013, it was announced to be included on the Young Money Entertainment compilation.

Chris Brown MJ Tribute

Michael Jackson was life-changer. Not only did he affect us with his music, he also affected many celebrities.

“I’ve always looked up to him & admired him it’s hard to be in the music industry and not have a piece of Michael Jackson in u” –Lil’ Kim

“Michael Jackson showed me that you can actually see the beat. He made the music come to life!! He made me believe in magic. I will miss him!” –Diddy

“So sad to hear about Michael Jackson. His music changed our lives. The world has lost an amazing singer and dancer. I will miss him.” –Ellen DeGeneres.

In 2010, Chris Brown did a musical tribute at the 2010 BET awards. It was very touching and moving. He started to cry when he was about to sing “Man in the Mirror”. I was also about to cry when I saw that. People said it was fake, but I don’t believe that at all. The way MJ touched the entire world can make people cry. “A lot of people don’t know, I was going to see Michael Jackson the day he died,” Chris Brown said. “I was on my way to the Staples Center that day… When I heard ‘Man In The Mirror,’ it just touched me. It wasn’t fake. I know people were trying to put extras on it, but everything was genuine.” It’s unfortunate the someone who changed lives and the way we see dance and music had to go. RIP Michael Jackson!!

“Show The World” by Lil Boosie -Ft. Webbie & Kiara

This is a hip hop song by Lil Boosie, Webbie and Kiara that shows the world about the meaning of “we”. Lil Boosie says we’re going to show the world that we will always stick together. I like this song because it is saying that everyone should show love to one another as brothers and sisters, and that we should look out for one another. I also like the sound of the music-it’s nice.

“Earthquake” by Labrinth ft. Tinie Tempah

This song is really nice! I like the beat and the bass of it.

The beat drops hard like an earthquake. For me, the track is about making an earthquake and having people look your way because of how much noise you’re making. Sometimes, the one that shouts the loudest is the one that gets heard. I think everyone should hear this song.

Remembering Michael Jackson

rip michael

Unfortunately on June 25th, 2009 Michael Jackson passed away and we are approaching the 5th anniversary of his death. His music was amazing and when I heard the news I shed a couple tears.

MJ was known as the “King of Pop”. His contributions to music, dance, and fashion along with his personal life made him an icon for over four decades. He was the eighth child in the Jackson family. MJ debuted professionally with his brothers In the Jackson 5. The Jackson 5 came out with many hits such as “ABC” (one of my favorites) , and “Want You Back”. He began his solo career in 1971, and he had so many hits such as “Thriller”, “Scream”, and “Billie Jean”! MJ was an amazing dancer, too. MJ popularized a lot of complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk, and he influenced many hip-hop, disco, pop, and r&b artists.

MJ is one of the few artists to be inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. Many other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records, 13 Grammy Awards, The Grammy Legend Award, The Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, 26 American Music Awards, Artist of the Century, and Artist of the 1980’s.

Not only was MJ an amazing artist he also supported lots of foundations. MJ supported 39 different charities. I like MJ because his songs had a meaning such as “Black or White”. His songs tried to break barriers between social and racial life. R.I.P Michael Jackson!!!!!

Boulevard of Broken Dreams

This song talks about how no matter what you go through you’ve still got yourself and that you don’t need people to make you happy. It has very inspirational lyrics such as “I walk a lonely road, the only road I have ever known.“ It means that no matter what, you could make yourself happy but yet have the feeling of lonliness, sorrow, and despair. It also says “my shadow’s the only thing that walks beside me. “ He’s comparing his shadow to a living thing so he never feels alone. The songs says that you’re always going to have people there for you whether you think they’re there or not.

It’s a really slow song. Even though he’s lonely, he overcomes it in the end.

Solange Knowles attacks Jay-Z!

Have you heard!!?? Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles attacked Jay-Z!!! This happened in the past couple days. Solange was wildly kicking and swinging at him inside an elevator and the attack was captured on surveillance video. It all went down at a Met Gala after-party last week at the Standard Hotel in NYC. In the video Jay Z, Beyonce and Solange step into the elevator and then Solange goes crazy, screaming at Jay before unleashing a violent attack. A large man who looks to be a body-guard tries to hold Solange back, but she somehow gets a couple hits into Jay-Z. Beyonce just stands there and watches the whole thing. Solange kicks and Jay-Z grabs her foot but never hit her back. If you pay attention to the fight, the body-guard presses a button on the elevator to stop the elevator maybe trying to keep the fight private, but that didn’t happen! After the fight, Beyonce and Solange go into a separate car than Jay-Z.

Last night Beyonce and Jay-Z were still seen together at the Nets game. It looks like they aren’t paying any mind to what happened…
